Holmen is a Swedish company which bases its business in the pulp and paper industry. Holmen’s main products are newsprint (both white and colored) and magazine paper for newspapers, magazines, directories and advertising prints. They also produce paperboard for consumer packaging and graphical applications.
The current CEO is Magnus Hall.
Holmen was originally called Mo och Domsjö AB (MoDo), but changed its name to the current one in February 2000. The history of Holmen is more than 400 years long, it started as a weapons factory in the beginning of the 17th century in Norrköping. In the mid 18th century what finally would become MoDo was formed.
Holmen consists of several subsidiaries: Holmen Paper, Iggesund Paperboard, Iggesund Timber, Holmen Skog and Holmen Kraft whereas the largest one is Holmen Paper with a total of two paper mills in Sweden; Hallsta, Braviken and one in Madrid, Spain, thus the most of the production is located in Sweden.
