McArthur is a village in Vinton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,888 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Vinton County. As the county seat of Vinton County, McArthur has been in existence since 1815 and took its name from Duncan McArthur, an army general in the War of 1812.
