Mount Penn is the name of a mountain peak and a borough in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,076 at the 2009 Census. The peak is sometimes recognized as the southern end of the Reading Prong mountains.
Mount Penn Borough is located at 40°19′46″N 75°53′26″W / 40.32944°N 75.89056°W / 40.32944; -75.89056 (40.329359, -75.890691),, just to the east of the City of Reading. The peak is to the northwest of the borough and northeast of Reading.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²), all of it land.
Local attractions on the mountain range include the Pagoda and the Fire Tower.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,016 people, 1,278 households, and 829 families residing in the borough. The population density was 7,076.8 people per square mile (2,708.1/km²). There were 1,335 housing units at an average density of 3,132.5 per square mile (1,198.7/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 96.45%…
