Prides Crossing is a passenger rail station on MBTA’s Newburyport/Rockport Line. The station is small and only seven trains (3 inbound and 4 outbound) stop here each weekday. No trains stop on weekends. The village this station serves is small, and the Beverly Farms station is a mere 0.7 miles (1.1 km) away. There is only a platform on the outbound side of the tracks. Passengers going to Boston must wait on the outbound platform and then board the train from an asphalt patch about 10 feet (3 m) wide that crosses the outbound tracks from the platform. There is an old former station house adjacent to the platform that is now a candy store. On the street side of the candy store are the “Republican” and “Democrat” benches, which are local landmarks.
