Sinton is a city in San Patricio County, Texas, United States. The population was 5,676 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of San Patricio County. It is named in honor of David Sinton.
Sinton is located at 28°2′5″N 97°30′32″W / 28.03472°N 97.50889°W / 28.03472; -97.50889 (28.034824, -97.508942).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km²), all of it land.

There were 2,026 housing units at an average density of 921.6 per square mile (355.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 73.47% White, 3.63% African American, 0.93% Native American, 0.04% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 18.48% from other races, and 3.37% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 71.04% of the population.
