Surfside is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 4,909 at the 2000 census. As of 2005, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 4,710.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.5 km (1.0 sq mi). 1.3 km (0.5 sq mi) of it is land and 1.2 km (0.5 sq mi) of it (47.42%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,909 people, 2,248 households, and 1,330 families residing in the town. The population density was 9,721.8 inhabitants per square mile (3,790.8/km²). There were 3,059 housing units at an average density of 6,058.1 per square mile (2,362.2/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 93.50% White (52.7% were Non-Hispanic White,) 1.28% African American, 0.04% Native American, 1.16% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.51% from other races, and 2.49% from two or more races.
