According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 4.0 square miles (10 km), all land.
White Bluff is located on U.S. Route 70 at its junction with Route 47.
White Bluff is east of Montgomery Bell State Park.
At the 2000 census, there were 2,142 people, 881 households and 604 families residing in the town. The population density was 536.9 per square mile (207.3/km²). There were 947 housing units at an average density of 237.4 per square mile (91.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.13% White, 0.65% African American, 0.37% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.09% from other races, and 0.56% from two or more races.
