Penrose is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fremont County, Colorado, United States. The population was 4,070 at the 2000 census. The Penrose Post Office has the ZIP Code 81240.
In the early 1900s Spencer Penrose organized the “Beaver Land and Irrigation Company” and began buying water rights in the Beaver creek area.
