How It All Started

It all started in 2011 when an internet entrepreneur met a nightclub and bar owner. The bar owner faced a common frustration—finding skilled bartenders. Too often, new hires arrived without knowing how to operate a bar, use point-of-sale machines, or even measure a proper shot.

Recognizing the national demand for bartending expertise, they joined forces to create a solution. Together, they developed a system to train and certify bartenders, launching a national certification program. By 2012, Local Bartending School (LBS) had 300 instructors. Today, we are proud to have over 5,100 certified LBS Pros helping aspiring bartenders across the country!

Welcome to LBS—the premier school for both beginner and professional bartenders.
