Priest River is a city in Bonner County, Idaho. The population was 1,751 at the 2010 census. Located in the northern part of the state, the city is at the mouth of the Priest River on the Pend Oreille River.
Priest River is located at 48°11′0″N 116°54′34″W / 48.183333°N 116.90944°W / 48.183333; -116.90944 (48.183388, -116.909555), at an elevation of 2,139 feet (652 m) above sea level.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.6 square miles (4.1 km), of which 1.6 square miles (4.1 km) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km) (1.84%) is water.
It is 7 miles (11 km) east of the border with Washington at Newport, and less than 60 miles (100 km) south (as the crow flies) of British Columbia, Canada.
